Horizon 2020: Mastering GIS for Urban Waste Water Management

Building the capacity of Algerian educators to promote de-pollution through applying Education for Sustainable Development

On 20-21 March 2012, a Horizon 2020 workshop entitled “Education for Sustainable Development focusing on the H2020 thematic areas’’ was organized in Algiers within the framework of the H2020 CB/MEP program in collaboration with the Mediterranean Education Initiative for Environment and Sustainability (MEdIES). This workshop was convened with the objective of raising awareness and building the capacity of Algerian educators in promoting environmental and sustainable development issues, particularly on themes relating to H2020.

Horizon 2020 supports the application of Clean Technology in the food industry of Bosnia & Herzegovina

In an effort towards more sustainable consumption and production patterns, the Horizon 2020 Capacity Building/ Mediterranean Environment Programme (CB/MEP) held a two-day seminar to promoting the implementation of Clean Technology (CT) in the food processing industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The seminar was organized in Sarajevo on 24 and 25 April 2012 by the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production of the Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP CP/RAC).

Towards better environmental governance in the banking sector in Tunisia

Acknowledging the role and potential impact of Green Banking in the effective de-pollution efforts in the region, the Horizon H2020 Capacity Building/Mediterranean Environment Programme (CB/MEP) held a two-day national workshop in Tunis (24-25 April 2012) dedicated to this issue after a specific request from Tunisia and as a direct follow-up of last year’s regional workshop of H2020 CB/MEP on Green Banking in the Mediterranean (Barcelona, November 2011).
