It is EU-funded and led by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in close cooperation with other European Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). MeHSIP’s activity is wrapping up, with 24 technical assistance operations/projects at various stages of development in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Tunisia.  Technical assistance is on-going for a little while longer for 8 more projects. It has provided direct technical advice and support for the preparation of investment projects in the water and environmental sectors of the Southern Mediterranean countries since 2015.

To date projects with a total investment cost exceeding EUR 1 billion have been prepared with the support of MeHSIP II and have been approved for financing by the EIB.
